Maggie

maggie-sliderMargaret Pansy Everett (Maggie), a young woman of seventeen, didn’t care what the townsfolk said about her friend and teacher Bapte.  Her fiery temper and clever wit dared anyone to speak ill against her mentor.  Maggie’s loyalty gains the respect and love of the ever pompous Thomas.

Thomas

Thomas

Dr. Apoth Thomas Pritchett (Thomas), Bapte’s cousin, finished medical school extremely early.  Like Bapte he traveled with his Uncle Armon for three years learning diseases and the treatment in men.  It was suspected he too was a genius of only a slightly lesser degree than Bapte.  Thomas was well versed in compounding but his heart was at the bedside.  He was handsome and tall, six feet exactly, with jet black hair, and well chiseled serious features.  But his physical features were an exact opposite of his true nature, which was more akin to that of an overgrown adolescent.  In fact, Thomas was a practical joker.  If there was ever a way to stir up mischief, Thomas was almost always in the middle.

Pots

Pots

Peter Otis Tiberius Smith (Pots) unlike most men of 1851 was 6’ 6”.  His hair was brownish red and eyes were as green as emeralds.  His face was free of stubble, boyish, and manly at the same time for a man of twenty-four.  He had a permanent smile that always made him look as if he was in some sort of mischief.  In short, he was best described as a leprechaun hit with a stretching jinx.  Fortune favored this man throughout his life.  He was the owner of the largest Armory in New York and never wanted for much of anything.  But still he was lost until he met Kaden Norris.

Bapte

Elizabeth Bapteme Pritchett (Bapte) was quite literally a genius.  In 1851 that was not necessarily a positive attribute for a woman.  And Bapte, as she was known, was definitely not the normal woman of the day.  Bapte was tiny, barely five feet in height.  She was a left-handed, color-blind, anomaly who was multilingual in over twenty different languages with seven of them readily available to her tongue as easily as her native language of English.  At a very young age her father, Dr. Armon Pritchett a physician and widower, took Bapte throughout the world to learn different medical therapies.  The first half of Bapte’s tour with her father she learned compounding and medical therapy from him.  The second half was almost entirely Bapte’s compounding skills and genius.  Her abilities as an apothecary were unmatched by any woman or man of the time and for several decades afterward.  But, perhaps the thing that drew Pots to her most was her love and service to the Lord.

The Story

Was she a man, a boy, a witch, or an apothecary? In truth, Bapte was all in one to the simple townsfolk of Pritchett Valley. But to Pots she was a little angel. And that is exactly what the new pastor set out to prove to the rest of the town.

Join Pots as he takes 2 Peter 3:9 to heart inviting every family within the town to God’s House in only thirty days.  And because the symbiotic gifts of Pots and Bapte are brought together a change occurs over the town that is nothing less than blessed of God.

Apoth is a Christian based fictional book outlining the struggles of an unassuming and very awkward woman attempting to fit into the society dictates of the 1850’s.
